Morris Brown Sr
OUR PASTOR
Visionary, Faithful, Steadfast, Diligent…
Suffragan Bishop Morris A. Brown Sr., a DeVry University alumnus, began his spiritual journey at Good News Temple Church in Kansas City after relocating from his native St. Louis. There, he served under the late District Elder E. L. Gordon and Dr. Lorene T. Gordon as an usher, Sunday School teacher, and was licensed as an Associate Minister.
Unexpected to him, in 1987, Minister Brown assumed leadership of the Good News Temple congregation and was later ordained an Elder in the Midwestern District Council under Bishop P. L. Scott, where he also served as the District’s Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.
Once settled into pastoral ministry, Pastor Brown, with the support of the Good News Temple congregation realigned the church’s affiliation with the then-Northwestern District Council, strengthening relationships and collaborative ventures close to home and changed the church's name to Apostolic Church of God.
In June of 2008, Pastor Brown received the distinct honor of being appointed a District Elder where he led the District’s Licensing & Credentialing Department and serves as the District Men’s Ministry’s Director – in addition to being the twice-elected Chairman of the now-Heart of America Council of Churches of the PAW (HACC).
June of 2015 saw this diligent and faithful visionary consecrated as Suffragan Bishop, where he provides impactful leadership to Region 2 of the Heart of America Council of Churches while still leading his congregation into its next phase of ministry and faithfully leading the HACC, as its Chairman, under the direction of Bishop Mark C. Tolbert.
Suffragan Bishop Brown’s greatest ministries are those of the home, where he’s been married to First Lady Patricia A. Brown since November of 1979; a union that has produced four children and several grandchildren.
